In retrospect, the pairing seems inevitable: Jackie Chan and Johnny Knoxville in a buddy cop movie. The two recreate the evergreen, narrow-minded detective/crazy partner dynamic in Renny Harlin's upcoming Skiptrace, the first trailer of which premiered today. Check it out below.

Chan plays a Hong Kong detective, while Knoxville is an American refugee who joins him for reasons. The former played similar roles in the Rush Hour films alongside Chris Tucker – and, lest we forget, Roman Polanski in a bizarre cameo at the end of the series' third installment – as well as in Shanghai Noon Page by Owen Wilson. Naturally. Bingbing X-Men: Future Past fan and former WWE actress Eve Torres co-stars in the action comedy.

Harlin hasn't been as active lately, but he has carved out an action-oriented niche for himself with films like “Die Hard 2,” “Cliffhanger” and “Deep Blue Sea.” “Skiptrace” is available on DirecTV starting July 28th and in theaters starting September 2nd.
