WORLEY – Around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 12, the Kootenai County 911 Center received a call from a resident in the Conkling Park area reporting that his wife, who has Alzheimer’s disease, was missing . Deputies from the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office and the Coeur d’Alene Tribal Police Department advanced to the area and began searching for the woman.
The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office Volunteer Search and Rescue Unit was activated and began responding to the area. At approximately 9:15 p.m., search and rescue volunteer Lindsay Halverson using K9 birdie located the patient in the snow near the residence. Worley medical staff responded and took the patient to Kootenai Health, where she was treated for mild hypothermia.
