Lacking man present in Cornwall by police helicopter

Incredible footage shows the moment a police helicopter and its crew find a missing person in Cornwall.

The footage shows the view of the cameras and thermal imaging technology on board the helicopter, showing a figure between some trees.

Another view shows a heat signature that confirms it is a person.

The incredible video shared by NPAS (National Police Air Service) South West also shows the conversations between those in the helicopter and the officers on the ground.

Under the direction of the helicopter above, ground units can be seen in the footage heading towards the man.

Police confirmed in a message on social media that the man was “in crisis and had been missing for nine hours” when he was found.

The man will soon be located by a local officer and NPAS South West has confirmed that the man has been taken home.

In a tweet, NPAS South West said, “Look the moment, one of our planes finds a missing man in Cornwall this afternoon.

“He was in a crisis and missing for 9 hours when NPAS 44 located him in the forest and led officers to him.

“As always, a fantastic team effort from everyone to bring someone home.”
