Lacking woman from Jefferson Metropolis, Kansas discovered

JEFFERSON CITY, Missouri (KMIZ)

UPDATE: The child was found in Kansas at 9:30 p.m. on Sunday evening and the suspect is on remand.

The Jefferson City Police Department issued a person at risk notice for a missing person incident that occurred at 10:10 am on Sunday at 1309 Jefferson Street.

An eight-year-old girl, Dakota Sky Autumn Leigh, is missing.

The possible suspect is believed to be Gilbert John Leigh, a 59-year-old white man. The description of the possible suspect states that he is 1.65 m tall, has black and gray hair, brown eyes, medium skin tone, a black Harley-Davidson coat and a USA shirt.

Dakota Sky Autumn Leigh, is an Indian female dog, 8 years old, height 5’0 “, 68 lbs, brown hair, brown eyes, medium complexion with a mole on her left eye and a scar on her upper lip, wearing a pink coat, a gray shirt, dark pants and a black and neon-colored Nike shoe.

Police say the suspect is the unprisoned father and arrived in Jefferson City on Saturday after hitchhiking out of Montana.

It was agreed that the daughter would stay with him in a hotel and that morning they were gone. There was no sign of a struggle in the hotel room, and no sign that they would be there for any length of time.
