Lafayette Planet Health taking pictures within the car parking zone throughout custody

According to police, a man was shot in the face after an argument during a custody swap in the parking lot of a North Lafayette Planet Fitness.

The victim and Bryant Batiste were arguing in the parking lot around 9 p.m. on Wednesday when Batiste pulled out a gun and shot the victim, Lafayette police spokesman Sgt. Wayne Griffin said in a press release.

The 32-year-old victim was taken to a local hospital and treated for a non-life threatening injury.

Batiste was arrested and charged with attempted second degree murder. He is due to appear in court on Friday.
