Richmond, va. – The body of a missing father in Richmond was discovered a week after the missing person.
Quamel Washington, 30, a father of two boys who also played a central role in the upbringing of two steps daughters, was found dead behind a recycling plant in the 700 block of the Hull Street Road on Monday afternoon.
Washington has been missing since July 7th.
“We smelled a real rotten smell and tried to find out whether it was a dead animal so that we could call animal control to possibly take up a deceased animal,” said the man who discovered the remains compared to CBS 6 Crime Insider Jon Burkett. “It was a deceased person. Stomach.”
Both the police in Richmond and Chesterfield had worked on Washington's missing person. Now the main crime of the Richmond Police Department is investigating Washington.
“A murder detective is assigned to this,” said Richmond's detective Clarence Key. “I really wait to hear what the update comes from the ME office and they run along and follow with information that may come into play.”
Key said there was possible signs of trauma for the corporation, but due to weather conditions in the past week, it is currently classified as a death examination.
“But with our forensics technicians, he has spoken to the heat and rain there for about a week and the heat and the rain if he knew that it was some decomposition,” said Key.
Criminal analysts believe that they have set an exact timeline. Now detectives are working on filling out the other gaps in the examination.
In an earlier interview, Washington called Ms. Alexis Gregory Washington completely uncharacteristic. She said Washington emotionally fought for the death of his mother's death.

“He wasn't really in a good head area. He was sad and a little excited when he went, he was nervous,” said Gregory.
She said she did not argue from his disappearance and paid a Lyft driver to bring Washington to his sister's apartment to the Southpoint Landing Apartments in Chesterfield County.
Detectives are still working on determining whether Washington has ever reached this place.
