MACKENZIE – At 6:30 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2022, Mackenzie RCMP was called to a disturbance on Mackenzie Blvd.

Police quickly determined the disturbance was related to a missing person, with concerns for the person’s well-being. The missing person was identified as a woman driving away in her vehicle and four dogs.

RCMP immediately called for assistance from search and rescue, air support and police dog service to begin the search.

Air support soon located the woman and her dogs near the 83-kilometer mark on the Parsnip West Forest Service Road. Ground units responded to the woman’s location but found the roads to be difficult to navigate.
