Ludhiana: A 33-year-old man, angry with his in-laws for demanding higher maintenance, allegedly consumed poison, which led to his death. The victim, 33-year-old Karanveer Bhatti, hailed from Navi Abadi area and was fighting with his wife for divorce. His in-laws demanded a higher amount as a settlement, which angered him for a long time. Police said Karanveer consumed poison on June 10 because he could not pay maintenance. His family took him to a hospital, where he died during treatment on Saturday. His family has filed a complaint against his wife Amanpreet Kaur and father-in-law Balwinder Singh. TNN
