Major search operation this morning in Longford to find missing man from Drumlish

A large search party led by Gardaí, Civil Defence and community volunteers is continuing its search for a missing man from Drumlish this morning (Wednesday 15 May).

Peter Bohan (79) was last seen last Sunday shortly before 1 p.m.

The Garda air support unit and civil defence personnel were also involved in the extensive search for the missing person.

The search this morning starts at the John P. Manning site in Drumlish Eircode N39F862. “Volunteers are asked to arrive at 9:15am for briefing and to set off at 9:30am. Wellies or waterproof footwear and a walking stick are recommended. Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you.”

Yesterday afternoon (Tuesday 14 May) the Gardaí released video footage of the last time Mr Bohan left his home in Drumlish.

Footage released by the Gardaí shows Peter leaving his home on the day he disappeared.

The short clip is now being shared widely on social media in the hope it might be found.

A Garda spokesman said: “We are asking for your help in tracing the whereabouts of 79-year-old Peter Bohan, who was last seen in Drumlish, Co. Longford shortly before 1pm on Sunday.

“Peter is described as being about 1.75 m tall, slim, with brown-grey hair and blue eyes.

“When Peter was last seen, he was wearing this knitted sweater, dark pants and a dark baseball cap with a red brim.”
