Malaika Arora, who tied the knot with Arbaaz Khan at the age of 25, spoke about her divorce and the challenges she faced. Speaking to Pinkvilla, Malla explained her decision to get married at a relatively young age despite there being no family pressure. Reflecting on her 19-year marriage with Arbaaz Khan, Malaika admitted that over time she realized that it was not in line with her true desires. However, when she made the decision to separate, she was criticized and condemned by society. She said: “When I decided to get divorced, I don't think there were too many women in the industry who had divorced and moved on. “I felt like I had to feel good inside to keep my child happy to do and ensure that it thrives in its environment as far as my personal growth and decision-making is concerned. So that's what I did.” In a disheartening incident with the paparazzi, Malaika opened up about a publication's snide comments about the cost of her clothes. She added: “Someone decided to publish a ridiculous article about something I was wearing and said how expensive it was and they said, 'She can obviously afford it because she was paid a fat living' and I was horrified. Whatever you've done in life, whatever level, it makes no difference.
