Malaika Arora says people assumed she was getting 'fat pay' after she was spotted in expensive outfit: 'Was horrified'

Malaika Arora was previously married to Arbaaz Khan and the duo divorced in 2017 after 19 years of marriage. In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, the Chaiyya Chaiyya star stated that netizens assumed that she received a “fat alimony” after her breakup with Arbaaa after she was spotted wearing an expensive outfit.

“Someone decided to spread a ridiculous article about something I was wearing and how expensive it was, and they said, 'She can obviously afford it because she's been paid a fat living allowance,' and I was horrified. Whatever you have done in life, at whatever level, it makes no difference,” Arora added.

Talking about her decision to marry Arbaaz at a young age, Malaika said that although she did not face any pressure from her family, she wanted to get married at the age of 22-23. “Nobody forced me but it was what I had to do now because it was the best option I had at that moment,” said Malaika.

Talking about her breakup with Arbaaz, she also said that she was “questioned and ridiculed” over her decision and she decided to get a divorce; There weren't many women in the entertainment industry who got divorced and moved on.

Meanwhile, Malaika is currently dating Arjun Kapoor. Arbaaz, on the other hand, married make-up artist Shura Khan for the second time in December 2023.
