Man arrested after riots in hospital; EMS helps in taking illegal drugs; Catalyst theft – your local news
The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period February 16-23, 2023. Due to its length, this report has been divided into five parts. This is the last part. Please note that an arrest or indictment does not constitute a conviction.
- Miscellaneous Law – Piedmont Walton – Female subject on site seeking a report of a possible violation of a temporary protection order by another female subject. It was found that no TPO existed between both parties. She received information on how to obtain a TPO.
- Disabled Vehicle – Hwy 138/Chick-Fil-A- Regarding the vehicle battery of a female subject who died on the roadway, her father came and towed the vehicle; everything okay
- Suspicious Vehicle – Publix – Male holding a sign asking for money in the parking lot. Area checked, no contact with male.
- Suspicious Vehicle – W Spring and Hwy 138, checked the area for a “reckless driver” who allegedly pushed the complainant off the road. There was no contact with the vehicle.
- Dispute – Piedmont Walton, male subject on site, causes a disturbance in the hospital waiting room. He had an active warrant through Cobb County. However, no hold was placed. He was brought to Piedmont Walton by a deputy from the Walton County Sheriff’s Office. He got a courtesy ride to an address on Doster. While driving, he began moving aggressively in the back seat of the squad car and banging on the bulkhead. He also attempted to open the rear door while sitting in the back seat. He was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
- Traffic Offense – Hwy 78 WB @ Hwy 138, female subject was stopped for an equipment violation. Consent to search the vehicle for illegal items has been granted. The search found loose marijuana and a smoking device. A standardized field sobriety test was also conducted due to an odor of alcoholic beverages emanating from her person. She said she also had an alcoholic drink. Based on leads observed during the SFST, she was arrested for DUI. Taylor’s tow truck removed the vehicle from the scene. She was transported to the WCSO without incident. Due to a printer problem, the quote was handwritten.
- Traffic Offense – W Spring @ GWA, Subject was stopped for a device violation and discovered his license was suspended. He was charged with a suspended license and released on copy.
- EMS Assist – N Broad St, the female had engaged in illegal activities by taking drugs. EMS responded due to the possibility of an overdose. Subject was alert when police arrived. EMS did not transport the female.
- Unknown Law – N Midland Ave The complainant called and stated that he could hear someone shouting around the U on N. Midland standing in the area had negative contact with any shouting in the area.
- Dispute – Tanglewood Dr. – Based on a dispute between a man and a woman, the situation was mediated.
- Suspicious Vehicle – The Bridge of GA – Unoccupied vehicle on site. Everything seemed fine with the vehicle.
- Foot patrol – Officers conducted a foot patrol on Barret Street and several surrounding streets.
- Suspicious Person – Matthews Park, Subject at scene in a silver Toyota pickup, Subject stated he is taking up a position with Facebook in the Social Circle.
- Suspicious Vehicle – Chevron East Church St. Vehicle was unoccupied. The deal seemed secured.
- Suspicious Vehicle – Heritage Ridge Drive; Regarding vehicles blocking a cul-de-sac at the end of the neighborhood. No illegally parked vehicles.
- Stolen Vehicle – GW Carver Dr. Subject called Monroe regarding the location of her stolen vehicle. The vehicle was processed to find fingerprints and video of the subject in possession of the stolen vehicle. Report received, CID notified.
- Follow Up – Monroe PD – Follow up on a stolen gun case. The gun owner confiscated her firearm. Report included, GCIC removal performed.
- Dispute – West Spring St @? Walmart; Regarding the customer on site arguing with the staff. The complainant was contacted. Dispute settled, report filed.
- Theft Report – S Broad St; The Church of Monroe – Regarding the theft of catalytic converters that occurred in the early hours of 02/20. took place. report included.
- Direct Service – E Spring St; The owner of a gas station asked us to direct traffic while they backed up their tractor trailer with their large gas storage tank. Traffic was diverted and no further action was taken.
- Dispute Nonviolent – W Spring St; McDonalds employees do not serve the customer their food. Dispute settled, report filed.
- Suspicious Person – Georgia Ave; Suite 100, DFCS building. A male subject was seen entering the building with a gun in his pants as he was going to his appointment. We contacted the subject and had him secure his firearm in his car without incident. No further action was taken.
- Suspect – Edwards St and N Madison Ave – Female lying on porch of apartment building. She said she was tired and wanted to lie down before going home. She sent herself on her way.
- Suspicious Person – Milledge Ave – Employees requesting escort to vehicle due to strange woman standing outside. They were helped to their vehicles without incident.
- Combat – In Green Street area – units have arrived on site, no visible combat ongoing and no report of combat in the area.
- Dispute Call – Alcovy St. Regarding a female subject who had a verbal argument about their vehicles with her longtime boyfriend, who was 19, and threatened to pour gasoline on them. He was not on site, report recorded. Civil remedies recommended.
- Welfare Check – Applewood Dr.: In relation to Piedmont Walton, who was counseling a patient, a female was assaulted but would not provide information or file a report. An animal welfare check was carried out and negative contact established.
- Missing person – GW Carver Dr: Regarding a person who left his residence around 1300 on this date and has not been seen since. Area heavily checked with negative contact. He was listed as missing in the GCIC and was later found on Maple Street and appeared to be in good health. He was removed from the GCIC as a missing person.
- Youth complaint – Radhaus Ln; In relation to a named youth leaving the home on Monday and not returning. Mother did not want to list.
- Traffic delay/disability/reckless driving/super speeder – Hwy 78 at the Hwy 138 exit. Male subject was arrested and taken to WCSO prison. Vehicle towed by Taylors. Arrest warrants taken, report filed.
- Prowler – Court St: Male subject reported people standing in front of his portajohn. Negative contact area checked.
- Murder – Green St Officers were responding to a gunshot call on Green St. When officers arrived they found a named individual in the driveway dying from multiple gunshot wounds. There is currently one suspect (De’erriest Laquez Crutchfield) who is believed to be armed and dangerous. Arrest warrants for murder are forthcoming. (Suspect has since been taken into custody)
- Prowler – Felker St: The complainant stated that she heard a knock on her front door. area checked. negative contact.
- Quarrel—Knight St; Lot 6: Regarding a male individual who suggests that a named female suspect stole his 2021 tax return through her cell phone. Remedial action recommended and parties separated. I
- Suspect – West Spring St; papa johns Alluding to a man digging through garbage in the area. Negative contact made.
