Man arrested in custody dispute; Driver with expired license plates evades police: Brook Park Police blotter

Obstructing official business, resisting police: Smith Road
A 44-year-old Cleveland man was arrested around 12:30 a.m. Dec. 13 after leaving the scene of the disturbance he was involved in on Smith.
Police were dispatched to a home in Smith. When they arrived, the man and the mother of his child were on their porch.
The man said he had been granted temporary custody of his six-year-old child and was there to pick him up. However, he had no documentation to support his claim.
The woman told police that the man showed up at her home unannounced to give her the child back. She said the so-called temporary custody order does not exist.
The man told police he was leaving. Police said he was not allowed to leave the location until the investigation was complete. Nevertheless, the man climbed into the back seat of his car.
The police repeated to the man that he was not allowed to leave. The man spoke to police every time they spoke to him and refused to get out of the vehicle. Finally, police officers dragged the man out of the car.
Fleeing and fleeing expired license plates: Brookpark Road
A driver who was stopped for a traffic violation fled from police on Brookpark around 12:30 p.m. on December 3rd.
Police stopped the driver's Chevrolet Equinox near a Greater Cleveland Transit Authority station, 18010 Brookpark. The registration on the license plate of the SUV had expired. Additionally, one of the SUV's headlights was not working.
As police approached the SUV, the driver was driving eastbound on Brookpark. Police gave chase and threw spikes at Brookpark near Smith, but the SUV did not stop.
The driver's speed reached approximately 90 miles per hour on Brookpark. The SUV entered Interstate 480 eastbound at the West 139th Street on-ramp. The driver's top speed was 110 miles per hour.
Police were unable to change gears in their patrol car and the speed only reached 57 miles per hour. They eventually solved the mechanical problem, but by then they had lost the Equinox on I-480 near Tiedeman Road. The police ended the pursuit.
Police traced the Equinox to a 29-year-old man from Parma. On December 7, police visited the man's home. The man's brother said the man recently moved to West 117th Street in Cleveland. He told them where his brother worked.
Warrant served, possession of cocaine: Brookpark Road
A wanted Cleveland man, 39, was arrested in Brookpark around midnight on December 8th.
Police spotted the man's GMC pickup truck traveling east on Brookpark near Smith Road. They ran the license plate and discovered that the truck's owner, the man from Cleveland, was wanted by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Police stopped the truck and handcuffed the man. They found a small white rock powder in his truck that they believed was cocaine, as well as a cocaine pipe and a .45-caliber Smith & Wesson handgun.
Driving with a suspended license and concealed weapon: Engle Road
A 51-year-old Cleveland woman was cited around 3 a.m. Dec. 12 after police caught her driving with a suspended license on Engle Street near Independence Court.
The license plates on the woman's car had expired. The police politely took the woman to her workplace and at the same time called a tow truck to pick up her car.
There was a firearm in a holster under the passenger seat of the car.
Theft: Zaremba Drive
A wallet, diaper bag, cell phone and credit cards were stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in Zaremba's driveway between 11 p.m. Dec. 7 and 4:30 a.m. Dec. 8.
