In a fit of anger, a worker murdered his wife, suspected of infidelity in the Umiya industrial area, Pardi, around 11 p.m. Monday.

The deceased was identified as Jyoti Markande at the age of 21 and the accused husband has Lalit Samelala Markande at the age of 25. The criminal police arrested the husband within 12 hours of the Umred incident.

The defendant is from Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh, and has worked with Purvi Trading (Sawmill) for three years. He married Jyoti in October 2020 and it was a love marriage and they both lived in the Sawmill area.

Jyoti spoke to someone on the phone on Monday night, causing Lalit to become suspicious and they had a big argument.

During the argument, Lalit hit Jyoti on the face and head with a block of wood in a fit of anger, causing her to die on the spot he fled the spot. When the incident became known around 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning, the Pardi police and Department 5 of the criminal investigation department reached the murder site. With the help of the cyber cell, the police tracked the accused husband’s location and arrested the accused from the High Life Family Restaurant on Umred Road. The operations were carried out by Criminal Investigation Department 5 PI Vinod Patil, API Anil Meshram, PSI Bhlavi, ASI Vijay Raut, policeman Sunil Thavkar and others.
