Marshall County girl charged with interfering with baby custody

MARSHALL CO., Ala. (WAFF) — On Thursday evening, deputies from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call for a missing 4-year-old girl at Asbury Baseball Fields.

Deputies responded and reached out to the child’s grandmother, who had custody of her through Dekalb County the day before.

Mia Lamunyon has been identified by MPs as a mother and a potential suspect. Investigators and deputies were able to identify Lamunyon’s vehicle, which was heading south toward Birmingham.

On Friday morning, Lamunyon and the child were located by the Fultondale Police Department at an apartment building in Fultondale, AL.

A Marshall County deputy arrived at the scene and the child was placed in the proper guardians. Lamunyon was taken into custody without incident and returned to Marshall County.

Lamunyon was charged with interfering with child custody with bail set at $10,000.

The investigations are ongoing.
