Martell Holt regrets cheating on Melody; says they are the perfect couple

According to Martell, he was the ideal husband until he felt Melody wasn’t putting equal effort into their marriage. He claims that as Melody’s career began to boom, he became the dominant parent of her children and her household and wifely chores – like cooking and sexual gratification – began to be lacking. As a result, he says he cheated. In retrospect, he regrets his actions and considers them childish. In an Instagram live chat, he said:

I would have accepted certain things that my wife didn’t do. I could have held out some of my complaints a little longer before taking matters into my own hands because we were a great couple, almost like a perfect couple. We were both busy and I started complaining about things like that and I feel like I just accepted certain things — because looking back now it’s like, ‘Damn, it wasn’t that serious,’ but when you’re in the moment [it feels otherwise]. You have this amazing marriage and these amazing kids and you’re about to screw it up.

Martell also warns other men to do the opposite of what he has been doing. Now, he says, he’s intensely focused on building a better co-parenting relationship with Melody.

Melody previously explained why she would never take Martell back

Despite the cheating and disrespect, many fans have asked the former couple if they would reconcile. Martell has also made it clear that he never thought his marriage would end and that if he had another chance he would be back with Melody. But Melody says she will never take Martell back.

“I don’t care, I never would,” she told Dr. Heavenly Kimes. “I would literally die alone before I was ever with Martell. And I’m not saying that… I don’t want you to think I’m trying to be mean, but it’s the honest truth.”

She added that the ongoing disrespect and betrayal she experienced at the hands of her ex was the reason she would never give him another chance. “If a person does so much and somehow shows you their character, shows you their lack of morality, integrity and various things like that, why would you want to be with someone like that? It’s just not something that even crosses my mind. Honestly, it doesn’t,” she added.

The reality star was in a relationship with his lover for around seven years. According to the wife, Arionne Curry, she was unaware of Martell’s marital status for nearly a year of their relationship.

“I found out within those 9 months he was married. But our conversations kept me there. And I was wrong to continue negotiating with a married man,” she told Tasha K in an exclusive sitdown interview. “He didn’t let me believe he was going to leave his wife. He always initially felt guilty about the situation he put her in,” adding that Martell “didn’t even give many details. And it’s my fault that I’m still in a relationship…”

Curry wishes she had ended the relationship after the discovery. She attributes her youth, 9 years younger than Martell, to her reason for the staging. “20-year-old Arionne, ‘Oh, he’s chasing me…’ 30-year-old Arionne, I just feel like there’s a fine line that we should have respect for one another as black women. Just point,” she continued. “I feel like I didn’t ruin their marriage. I wasn’t in her household. But at the end of the day I still feel like I only have respect for women, if she’s in a situation with someone just leave it alone. It came with time, like everything I’ve been through, now I can say that.”
