Big Brother Couple Memphis Garrett And Christmas Abbott end their marriage.
Christmas and Memphis, who met on season 22 of “Big Brother,” confirmed their relationship after the season ended and married in May 2022.
According to People, Memphis filed for divorce on March 1, a week after a temporary domestic violence restraining order was filed against her husband on Christmas that lasted less than two years. Memphis cites “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the divorce.
In his application he also requests that no maintenance be granted at Christmas.
TMZ reports that infidelity and lies are at the core of the couple's split and that Christmas Memphis has been asking for a divorce for several months.
“It is unfortunate that the actions and intentions of individuals involved in this situation have resulted in the disclosure of personal and sensitive information,” Christmas told People. “I believe that matters of this nature should be resolved confidentially and respectfully. I ask for privacy during this time so I can focus on my family.”
Memphis has also reportedly suspected marital infidelity and believes his wife has been unfaithful for the past six months. He also believes his wife fabricated the recent domestic violence allegations to implicate the police, who eventually escorted Memphis from his and Christmas's home along with his son River.
(Christmas also has a son, but the couple has no children together.)
“My heart hurts,” Memphis told TMZ about the breakup. “I didn’t want to have to file for divorce. I have done everything in my power to work on our marriage. I wish her only the very best in life and [her son] Faithful.”
On Christmas, occupancy of the family home in Fort Lauderdale, Florida was reportedly granted.
Interestingly, just 16 days before filing for divorce, Memphis released a Valentine's Day tribute on Christmas.
“We're not having fun!❤️ Happy Valentine's Day, baby! We choose love every day and I wouldn't have it any other way. #final2forever,” he captioned a slideshow of photos of him and Christmas.
While Memphis' tribute to Christmas (as well as other photos of her family) continue to appear on his Instagram account, Christmas has deleted all of Memphis' pictures from her social media account.
When a follower asked her why she “deleted” that part of her life, Christmas replied, “It's not being erased, just removed from a daily public reminder.”
