Update 9/4/2023 for Seaside from the Seaside Park Fire Company:
Yesterday morning at 5:21 am Seaside Park Fire Department deployed with Zone 1 on a wildland fire operation, the crew of 4531 spent 12 hours on a structural protection operation. While this deployment was being conducted, other teams were responding to several other emergencies in the city and state park. These emergencies included several water rescues. When the crew returned from the forest fire, they assisted the other two crews in a total of 10 emergencies that day. Unfortunately, the last call of the day was tragic and someone couldn’t go home with their family. Responders were on a beach recovery mission on Stockton Ave until after 9:00 p.m. Some of our members left their homes yesterday and have only returned 17 hours. We cannot stress enough the importance of staying away from the sea when the lifeguards are not on duty. We remind the public that today is the last day of patrolled beaches at Seaside Park!
