Missouri Metropolis seek for lacking individuals round Lake Olympic within the Flamingo Island neighborhood

MISSOURI CITY, Texas (KTRK) – First responders in Missouri City were working Thursday morning to locate a missing person near a body of water.

Missouri City Fire Chief Mario Partida said crews received a missing person call at around 4 a.m. in an apartment in the Flamingo Island neighborhood

Officials set up multiple access points along Lake Olympia, which runs around many houses in the neighborhood.

Although it is unconfirmed whether the missing person went into the water, search boats using sonar technology and a diving team searched the lake because the residence is adjacent to the water, Partida said.

“The search teams use side-scan sonar to look underwater and then send divers down to check specific spots,” Partida said.

Partida said the missing person’s age was unconfirmed, although a child was initially reported missing in the area.

The fire chief informed ABC13 crews that there were alligators in the lake.
