Ne-Yo objects to estranged spouse Crystal Smith’s youngster help declare

For singers Ne-Yo and his estranged wife crystal smith, Life in Champagne Life looks pretty flat.

As BLACK COMPANY As previously reported, Smith filed for divorce in August after rumors claimed Ne-yo was unfaithful and allegedly the father of another woman’s child. The recently divorced socialites tied the knot in 2016 and reportedly split four years later in July 2022.

According to The Jasmine Brand, the court documents include the singer’s request for joint custody of the three children he shares with Smith. Recent reports indicated that Ne-Yo is objecting to Smith’s requests for temporary and permanent child support and primary custody of the children. Ne-Yo says he is an “active and loving father to his children.”

Though he’s reportedly considering paying child support, the singer stressed that spousal support is out of the question for Smith. Ne-Yo maintains his objection to the payment of spousal support, stating that her lack of contribution must be taken into account in the division of assets.

The entertainer reveals that he is the higher earner of the pair, confirming his status as an established professional entertainer, while Smith’s image and income stem from her “personal connection” with him. Ne-yo claimed he bought and maintained all three properties himself during the marriage, as she was “formally unemployed at times during the marriage.” Although Smith told the courts they agreed she would not work during the marriage, the singer believes she is currently able to maintain steady employment.

There is said to be an additional requirement for Ne-yo to cover Smith’s $25,000 in legal fees, to which he has also objected.

One thing they see eye to eye with is the feeling that the marriage has “broken apart beyond recovery, with no hope of reconciliation.”
