According to a criminal complaint, two of Gross’s sons were placed in the care of their mother in the town of Mukwonago under a Child Protective Services order following incidents in Sauk County. On July 4, the grandmother reported an incident at Lauren Park in the city of Mukwonago, where she was supervising a visit from the children, as well as Gross and Rouse, when they set off fireworks. The woman said she told the couple about new charges against her in Sauk County, including allegations of child neglect and possession of methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. When Rouse got angry, he berated the woman and said he wanted to “take her with me right away.” “, the complaint said. She said Rouse refused to give her the children when she said it was time to leave and, fearing for their safety after his comments, left the children with them and went home, the statement said Complaint. Waukesha police took the couple into custody on Wednesday. When Rouse spoke to police, he provided “several different swear words about conspiracies against him committed by his mother, U.S. Representative Gwen Moore” and others, and told several “long, rambling stories that made no sense that people were after him”. “, the complaint said. He admitted to arguing with the woman at the park, saying the woman hit him, and he left the park with the children because the grandmother “didn’t want them anymore,” according to the complaint. The children were examined at a Waukesha hospital on Wednesday, but the complaint said nothing about their whereabouts afterwards.

The complaint said a Sauk County social worker reported substance abuse in the RV they lived in and that two of the children had tested positive for methamphetamine and had shown signs of physical abuse. In March, the county took custody and placed her with her grandmother, the complaint said.
