Of 33 applications submitted to the maintenance fund, only one was approved

Since the amended Law on Temporary Child Maintenance came into force, 33 applications for the use of money from the maintenance fund have been submitted and so far only one has received a positive decision. This was reported to CdM by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, headed by Naida Nisic.

The 2024 budget provides funding of €1 million to meet the needs of the maintenance fund.

The enforcement document issued by the bailiff serves as evidence that the maintenance debtor has not paid his maintenance obligation in the future.

In accordance with the law, the social welfare offices may, depending on the individual case, request further evidence to establish the facts and set the deadline by which the applicant must complete the application.

The amendments to the law provide that children of foreigners with approved temporary or permanent residence, as well as asylum seekers and foreigners with subsidiary protection status residing in the national territory, are entitled to temporary maintenance, provided that the enforcement order of the bailiff is issued by a competent state authority.
