Ogmore Search and Rescue: Excessive-risk lacking particular person discovered

A high-risk missing person whose disappearance sparked a Coast Guard search near Ogmore has been found ashore.

Barry Coastguard along with crews from Porthcawl and Llantwit Major were dispatched Monday night to search for the high-risk individual.

However, when the teams arrived at the scene, the person was found by police ashore and the crews returned to their respective stations.

Barry Coastguard said on Twitter at 10.35pm Monday night: “Incident. 01/02/22. At 8:47 p.m.

“Our team with Llantwit Major CRT and Porthcawl CRT have been tasked with searching for a high risk missing person near Ogmore.

“When teams arrived on site, the person was located by police ashore.

“All teams could then return to the station.”

Police thanked the Coastguard’s actions and South Wales Police Vale fo Glamorgan said on Twitter: “Thank you for your response #Team4Barry.”
