Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis reply to their former nanny’s allegations of infidelity and alcohol abuse

Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis’ tumultuous split was reportedly worse than fans previously thought. The end of the former couple’s relationship (and rumors of Wilde’s infidelity) grabbed a lot of headlines since she announced her relationship with Harry Styles (who starred in the 2022 film Don’t Worry Darling, which she directed). As of this week, there seems to be another character in the rumored triangle saga – the former nanny of Wilde and Sudeikis.

As reported by The Daily Mail, a source who identified herself as the former nanny who looked after Wilde and Sudeikis’ two children (son Otis, 8, and daughter Daisy, 5) got down with the outlet for a bombshell and an in-depth interview. The nanny brought along text message screenshots describing how Wilde, 38, and Sudeikis, 47,’s relationship fell apart in late 2020. The insider also added an anecdote that immediately broke the internet about Sudeikis allegedly lying under Wilde’s car in a bid to keep her from seeing her then-new boyfriend Styles, 28.

In a joint statement to Jezebel, Sudeikis and Wilde described the nanny’s interview as the “unfortunate culmination” of a “campaign that has now lasted 18 months in which we, loved ones, close friends and colleagues have been harassed.” They also called the claims it contained “false and whimsical.”

Wilde has long said that she and Sudeikis split in mid-2020 and that her relationship with Styles didn’t overlap at all. However, the nanny has another story, allegedly telling that as late as October 2020, Wilde was still talking about marrying Sudeikis and even mentioned that she was thinking of having their baby daughter Daisy as a flower girl. Wilde and Sudeikis (who never married) were engaged from 2013 to 2020 (and started dating in 2011). The nanny, who was not named in the publication, claimed the Booksmart director fired the Ted Lasso actor shortly after she began filming Don’t Worry Darling.

After reportedly moving into a hotel in early November 2020 citing a Covid outbreak on the set of her film, Wilde split from a distraught Sudeikis at her Los Angeles home on Nov. 8, according to the nanny. The nanny added that when Sudeikis came into work the following Monday, she was “crying and completely upset and said, ‘She left us. She left us!'”

The next weekend, the nanny noticed Wilde using her “special dressing” to make a salad for Styles at the Los Angeles home. This then angered Sudeikis, the nanny said, as getting dressed had some significance in his relationship with Wilde and her children. The tidbit that inspired a lot of tweets and internet memes was this one — Sudeikis was reportedly so angry that Wilde Styles had made a salad with that special dressing that he laid it under her car so she couldn’t drive away to get it to visit.

The nanny reportedly recalled, “The night she was leaving with her salad, Jason ran after her and videotaped her around the house. She said, ‘I’m scared of you Jason, I’m scared of you.’ And he said, ‘If you’re afraid of me, why are you leaving your children with me?’ So Jason went outside and got under her car to keep her from walking away.” The nanny added, “She got in her car to back up, he got under her car to keep her from walking away. She went back into the house and he went in, it was a back and forth. He said he was doing it on purpose so she would be late for Harry.”

The insider continued, “Jason told me, ‘She made this salad and she made her special dressing and she’s going to dinner with her salad [Harry]. I said what salad dressing? He said, “She has a special salad dressing that she makes for us and she took it to have with him now.” I don’t know what was in it. Out of it all, he said, ‘She made her special salad dressing and brought it to him.'”

The nanny said Wilde’s sudden departure resulted in unstable and erratic behavior from Sudeikis. The Daily Mail described this as a “worsening of his nighttime drinking habit”. The anonymous source claimed that one day the comedian would be optimistic and then “curse names [Wilde] to me” next.

She added that in January 2021, she attempted to end her professional relationship with the family. She ultimately agreed to work another six months until a “drunk and out of control” Sudeikis fired her on February 1 of that year. “He said, ‘You get your stuff and go outside. why are you sending [Wilde] Messages?’ I said, ‘Jason, you’ve been drinking and I can tell you’re drunk. You’re very angry and I’m scared of you,” she told the tabloid.

In their statement this week, representatives for Wilde and Sudeikis said it was “incredibly upsetting” for both actors to see these nanny allegations made public. The anonymous insider also told the Daily Mail that she was abruptly fired with no severance pay. In the months since, she said she couldn’t claim unemployment because Wilde and Sudeikis claim she resigned.
