The GPS tracking map will be available on the county website HERE. The tracking of the plows begins as soon as their salt spreaders are active.
“This technology will allow our residents to see when and where roads are being cleared and salted by county vehicles,” said Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente. “Our new GPS tracking map will support travel planning during the winter months, making it safer and more convenient. We are constantly looking for ways to be more innovative and provide the best possible service to our residents.”
The Oneida County Public Works Department operates 28 plows that plow and salt a total of over 400 state-owned roads.
