‘My own marriage was too heavily spiced with extramarital affairs’: Paul Hollywood’s ex-wife Alex has accused the GBBO star of further infidelity as she insists on finally being happily single
Paul Hollywood’s ex-wife Alex lashed out at the Great British Bake Off star over the weekend, claiming their marriage was “seasoned with extramarital affairs”.
The TV show’s judge, 55, previously admitted to cheating on Alex, 57, with chef Marcela Valladolid, 43, in 2013 and Alex, who shares a teenage son with Paul, insists she is finally happy to be single but says some people struggle with it believe that’s true.
She wrote on Instagram: “It took me a while to get here and it wasn’t easy but I love the woman I am now.

“I know only too well that not every marriage/partnership is a recipe for happiness and success.
“My own marriage was too spiced up with extramarital affairs for my liking, so I decided against it and chose the singles menu instead. It wasn’t easy and took some getting used to.
“I wasn’t even sure at first if I really liked it, but as I regained my confidence, freedom and myself after so long, I discovered that it really isn’t a cliché to say that happiness really does come from within .”

She added: “I still get the occasional well-meaning comment – that I’ll be ‘snapped on’ soon, more like a supermarket food offering. People don’t like to think that a single woman can be happier.

Alex broke up with Paul because of his relationship with Marcela who was working on the American version of Bake Off.

They got back together but eventually went their separate ways in 2017, with Alex citing infidelity as the reason for the split.
After their 20-year marriage ended, Paul began dating barmaid Summer Monteys-Fullam by August 2019.
However, Alex later claimed that Paul’s relationship with Summer began before their breakup.

Paul officially removed Alex from her positions as director and secretary of his multi-million pound company in 2020.
Notice of appointment papers were sent to Companies House showing that the former spouses have parted ways with each other’s businesses.
Two documents shared online revealed that Alex was no longer a director or secretary of the Paul Hollywood Limited bakery company.
Whilst another paper for Alex’s company AKH Media Publications Ltd showed that a termination of Paul’s appointment as Director had also been submitted.
Paul was believed to be worth around £10million at the time and it has been claimed that cookery writer Alex was still raking in five figures from Paul’s company because of her position there.
