SOUTH OGDEN, Utah — Police are searching for a 37-year-old woman who they say fled with her 4-year-old son from a court swap of custody with the boy’s father on Monday.
Officers were called to the 5700 block of South Maplewood Drive on Monday to assist with the custody exchange, according to a police press release. However, according to police, Taryn Pearce had left the area with her son.
The 2nd Circuit Court issued an arrest warrant for Pearce on Tuesday.
Through their investigation, police discovered that Pearce, her 4-year-old son and her boyfriend were staying at a hotel in Ogden Monday night. Police say Pearce and her son checked out of the hotel at 8:50am on Tuesday morning
Police have no information on the type of vehicle Pearce may be driving, although they questioned the friend.
Police believe the 4-year-old boy is not in danger, so he does not meet the criteria for a yellow alert.
If you have any information about the case, you are asked to call Weber County Dispatch at 801-395-8221.
