Srinagar: Police on Wednesday said that following an order of the Baramulla District Court, a GPS tracking device has been fitted on a militant colleague, who was released on bail in a UA(P) case of Uri police station.
A statement issued by the District Police Headquarters Srinagar said that the accused was arrested in case FIR No. 104/2023 under Section 13, 18, 18B, 20, 23, 40 UA(P) Act, 120 B IPC, 7/25 Arms Act from Uri Police Station and his bail was extended by the District Court. The police further stated in their statement that the GPS ankle bracelet is being used to monitor the movements of the said militant member and ensure that he does not violate the bail conditions.
