According to the Sundre RCMP, a police service dog helped track down a missing woman believed to be in medical emergency last week.
Police received the call at around 7:13 am on November 25 about a person who may be in medical distress. She responded on Forest Trunk Road and found the person’s vehicle abandoned.
Members of the RCMP Police Dog Service arrived at 11:45 am and they started the chase at noon. In about 15 minutes, the police dog “Hoss” was able to locate the missing person one kilometer from the street.
According to police, the missing person, a woman in her 50s, was able to leave the house with the help of the police and was taken to the hospital for further investigation.
