Police drones successfully located an 81-year-old man who disappeared on foot from an assisted living facility in Deer Park on Monday afternoon.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office said Monday around 3 p.m. that it was searching for a missing person.

The man, an 81-year-old considered endangered, went missing from Deer Park Village Senior Living, 21840 West Lake Cook Road in Deer Park.

The sheriff’s office asked for the public’s help in locating the man, who was reportedly walking in his pajamas.

The public was asked to call 911 if they saw him so authorities could check on his welfare.

An active search was carried out for the 81-year-old, in which police drones were also used.

In an update around 4:40 p.m., the sheriff’s office said the man had been located by their drone operators.

The Lake Zurich Fire Department was commissioned to assess the man.
