Police officer recordsdata for divorce for alleged infidelity of his spouse

A 45-year-old police officer, Mr. Rafiu Ademola, prayed in an Igando common court on Thursday to dissolve his 14-year marriage over his wife’s alleged adulterous nature.

The petitioner informed the court that his wife Rashidat was promiscuous.

“I’ve seen messages about their adulterous acts on their WhatsApp chats with their lovers, them
meets with them in different places.

“She told one of the men that she was a single mother and was staying with her sister.

“I put all the chats on my phone as evidence,” she said.

The plaintiff said his wife was lazy and barely cooked for the family.

In his opinion, Rashidat also lacks respect for his parents.

He told the court that he no longer loved his wife.

“Please end our marriage, I can no longer keep it under my roof,” he said.

However, Rashidat denied all allegations but agreed to the dissolution of the marriage.

“I’ve never been promiscuous, it’s my husband who is involved in extramarital affairs, he brings women into our marital home.

“He recently chased me out of his house and brought one of his concubines with him. I live and sleep in my shop now.”

The 40-year-old fashion designer accused her husband of turning it into a punching bag.

“My husband is a wife beater, he hit me at the slightest provocation; the scars on my body are the result of his blows.

“There was one day he hit me and chased me naked with pregnancy,” she said.

She said her mother-in-law never liked her and once attacked her in public.

Rashidat prayed the court to give her custody of her children.

“The last time I saw my children, they all look unkempt, they have skin diseases.

“Please give me her custody so I can properly take care of her,” she said.

The President of the Court, Mr. Adeniyi Koledoye, urged both parties to keep the peace, and
adjourned the case until December 16 for a decision.
