Queen denies rumors about Prince Philip that have been discussed by experts

Philip and the Queen celebrated 73 years of marriage at Windsor Castle last November. The couple’s long-standing association has impressed royal watchers around the world, especially since their married life has been known to the public since they tied the knot. The Queen has referred to her husband as her “strength and abode” in the past and never hinted at any dissatisfaction between them behind closed doors.

However, reports of arguments and even infidelity from Philip plagued the first few years of their relationship.

Biographer Tim Heald told the Amazon Prime documentary “Princes of the Palace” that “there have always been rumors about Prince Philip and girls”.

But he continued, “I remember Prince Philip saying to me, ‘If I had fathered as many children as I should have, I wouldn’t have time for anything else.'”

Philip’s unwavering devotion to the crown has been widely recognized. Before he retired at the age of 96 in 2017, he had performed a total of 22,219 solo engagements.

The couple married in 1947 and soon had their eldest two children in quick succession – Prince Charles and Princess Anne – but they didn’t expect King George VI to suddenly die in 1952 in 1952, which meant Princess Elizabeth became the monarch when she did was only 25 years old.

Philip had to give up his successful sea career to support his wife at the head of the monarchy.

Many critics believe that this created tension behind the palace walls in their marriage, which sparked the allegations of infidelity.

Royal commentator Camilla Tominey told the documentary that the Queen’s rise “abruptly ended what was as normal a marriage celebration as possible for a royal couple.”

She added, “All of a sudden the Queen completely took over from him and I think the dynamics of the relationship have been pretty tough to handle.”

Philip embarked on a five-month voyage without his wife on the Royal Yacht Britannia in 1956 shortly after she became Queen.

This period of separation only reinforced claims that all was not all right in the royal marriage.

Ingrid Seward of Majesty magazine said, “The rumors started that his stable master was having an affair [during the tour] and then Prince Philip had an affair.

“People said there was a girl in every court.

“Like the other rumors, it would never go away.”

Historian Professor Jane Ridley told Channel 4: “There is some kind of feverish press interest in Britain.

“All sorts of rumors about how the prince went abroad to flee. Apparently those rumors got through to the queen.”

The palace then took the amazing step of publicly denying any altercation between the couple in a statement that read: “It is quite untrue that there is a rift between the queen and the duke.”

The historian Dr. Pier Brendon added, “A public rejection is synonymous with approval.

“Of course, it only fueled speculation.”

Philip is also said to have been incredibly hurt by these allegations.

Mike Parker, Philip’s first private secretary, claimed, “He was absolutely in love with her, absolutely.”

He added that the adultery claims made the Duke “white hot” and that Philip was “very, very angry” and “deeply hurt”.

He continued, “Philip was 100 percent loyal to the Queen. No ifs, no buts. Take it from me i know “

Royal biographer Gyles Brandreth also noted on The Telegraph that Philip has often pointed out the lack of evidence behind these reports.

He claimed, “In private he will say, ‘How could I?

“‘I’ve had a detective in my company day and night since 1947.'”

Philip returned to Windsor Castle earlier this month after a four-week hospital stay and is said to be in “good spirits” again.
