The sheriff's office is searching for a local man who has suspiciously disappeared.
The Rockingham County Sheriff's Office is currently requesting assistance in locating a person missing under unknown and possibly suspicious circumstances, according to a sheriff's press release.
The person is Mark Edward Sipe, 52 years old and from the Port Republic area, the press release said.
He was last seen on the morning of June 18 in the area of Ore Bank Road in Rockingham County, the press release said.
Sipe was reported missing by his family.
“An investigation into the case was immediately launched and the RCSO conducted numerous interviews and searches,” Sheriff Hutcheson said in the press release.
Efforts to locate him have been unsuccessful, the press release states.
Based on information received by the Sheriff's Office, law enforcement authorities are becoming increasingly suspicious about his disappearance.
“We ask that anyone with information regarding his whereabouts please contact our office by phone at 540-564-3800 or email our investigator at clucas@rockinghamcounyva.gov.”
