Top teleseries director Don Michael Perez has no intention of justifying the act of marital infidelity. As he unveils his latest dramatic offering on the GMA Network tonight, he hopes that through the relatable characters and situations he weaves together, viewers may be able to avoid the pitfalls of their own relationships.

“To Have and To Hold” is Perez’s latest Obra, led by a stellar trio of Kapuso actors in Carla Abellana as Erica Gatchalian, Rocco Nacino as Gavin Ramirez and Max Collins as Dominique Ramirez.
The midweek soap finds Dominique and Gavin, a four-year-old couple who are about to split up. An unexpected turn of events ensues that forces Gavin to reveal a web of lies and deceit involving a woman named Erica and her husband Tony, who shares an inexplicable connection with Dominique.
According to Abellana, who will say the words “Have and Hold” to her fiancé Tom Rodriguez in November, her character Erica is a philanthropic and submissive housewife.
“She longs for a happy family at her own expense, too,” she added. Far from what she is, the bride-to-be continued: “She is very different from me. We both love our families so much and we will fight for them, but when it comes to love, only love her with her heart. The circumstances towards the end for Erica were hard to bear and accept for me. “
As for Nacino, who just married volleyball player Melissa Gohing earlier this year, Gavin’s devotion to looking after his wife came naturally. His character takes his responsibilities seriously and strives to prove his worth.
“This story shows what goes on in a man’s head. And how self-esteem affects a man’s choices, ”he noted. “A friend, fiancé, or husband, like me, will identify with Gavin because the subjects we will show on the series are the subjects men tend to hide or choose not to speak to their spouse. In a way, the story will open the eyes of men who feel that their relationships have reached a plateau. “
After all, Collins, who just had her first child with husband Pancho Magno last year, could easily cope with the role of Dominique. As a wife and successful career woman, she is an alpha woman with high esteem and therefore hates being taken for granted.
“Dominique is brave and self-confident, but at the same time she has many weaknesses and tries to find herself. I can identify with her in these aspects,” she admitted. “I’ve hugged every part of her, the good and the bad.”
Equally important roles in the series are the talented squads of Roi Vinzon, Ina Feleo, Valeen Montenegro, Bing Pimentel, Gilleth Sandico, Luis Hontiveros and Athenah Madrid.
The series also features the special involvement of Rafael Rosell as Tony Gatchalian, Erica’s charming and manipulative husband; and Dion Ignacio as Ian, Erica’s down-to-earth and reliable confidante.
