Resumption of the recovery efforts after fell in Ogeechee River from the I-95 Bridge

Bryan County, Ga. (WTOC) – The second day in a row is the relaxation efforts for a man who fell into the Ogeechee River and has disappeared.

The man worked on the I-95 bridge and paints under it when he fell on Monday shortly after 1:00 p.m.

The relaxation efforts began on Tuesday morning at 8 a.m. after they were suspended for the storms on Monday evening.

The authorities believe that he will stand between the bridges of the I-95 and the Highway 17 Bridge.

There are also helicopters and drones that deal with the Sonar technology into the water. The search lasted for a few hours on Monday without luck.

WTOC turned to Georgia's Ministry of Transport to get an explanation.

In Georgia Dot, we monitor the development situation on the Ogeechee River Bridge on the I-95 and are deeply concerned about the security of the missing person who is employed by a contractor for the department. The safety of employees and contractors is always of the utmost importance and we remain hopeful for a positive result. We understand that the US Coast Guard, Georgia State Patrol, the Georgia Dept. of Natural Resources and the local law enforcement authorities are on site and can best comment on search and emergency activities.

The sheriff's office said around 20 people there on this mission to find this man.

As soon as we get updated information about who this man is and how he got into the river, we will let you know.
