The couple, affectionately known as Chay-Sam, went to their respective social media addresses to confirm that their four-year relationship had come to an end. The soon-to-be-divorced couple decided to remain friends but go their own way. They also urged the media and fans to respect their privacy in order to “keep going”.

A news outlet confirmed that the 34-year-old star’s father, Joseph, was shocked after the couple announced their split. “My head is blank,” he said.

The reports also mentioned that Sr. Prabhu tried to convince his daughter to reconsider her decision, but now hopes it will get better soon.

According to a report by India Today, the Family Man 2 had declined an alimony of Rs 200 crore offered by the former husband and the Akkineni family. The source of the publication confirmed that the actress refused to take money from her former in-laws and wants to focus on her job.

The source also revealed that she is heartbroken after the announcement, but poses a bold front at work and is professional.

In her Instagram story, the 34-year-old actress blamed one of the “Bollywood superstars” for breaking up her favorite Internet couple.

Her written note stated that the divorce happened after Chaitanya got close to the “Bollywood divorce expert”.

She went on to claim that the superstar in question “ruined the lives of many women and children” and was Chaitanya’s leading figure.

As part of another Insta story, she commented on an increase in divorce cases today and how men are responsible for it.

“Whenever a divorce happens, the fault is always the man. I may sound orthodox or too judgmental, but that’s how God created man and woman, their nature and dynamism for these brats who change women like clothes and then claim to be their best friends. Yes, out of a hundred, yes, a woman can be wrong, but that’s the ratio. Shame on these brats who are encouraged by the media and fans. You greet her and condemn the woman. The culture of divorce is growing like never before, “she wrote.

Fans had begun speculating about difficulties in their marriage last month after Prabhu deleted “Akkineni” from her name on her Twitter account.

Chay-Sam met on the sets of Gautham Menon’s legendary 2010 Telugu film, Ye Maaya Chesave, and began dating shortly thereafter. After eight years of relationship, they got engaged in January 2017 and married in Goa in October of the same year.
