Shakira appears to have attacked ex-partner Gerard Pique in the song Te Felicito amid speculation the footballer cheated on her.
The Waka-Waka hitmaker seemingly threw shade at her ex in her song, which The Sun says translates to “I Congratulate You.”
The Colombian singer sings in the song (translation): “To make you whole / I broke myself to pieces / I was warned but I didn’t heed / Don’t tell me you’re sorry / I know you well and I know you lie.”
Speaking about the track’s lyrics in her recent interview with Elle Magazine, Shakira was asked, “Does that feel like you kind of had to give a part of yourself during this relationship that might have been hard to get back?”
“All I can say is that everything I’m feeling, everything I’m going through, consciously or unconsciously, is reflected in the lyrics I write, in the videos I make,” the pop star replied.
“If the glove fits, it fits. Like I said, my music is this channel,” Shakira added.
The singer and the Barcelona star announced their split in June 2022, without revealing the reason behind the shocking split.
However, multiple outlets reported at the time that Pique allegedly cheated on the singer, but the allegations were never confirmed.
Two months after their split, the sports star made his first public appearance with 23-year-old public relations student Clara Chia Marti.
