A court in Kolkata has ordered Indian cricketer Mohammed Shami to pay his ex-wife Hasin Jahan a monthly alimony of Rs 1,30,000 in a domestic violence case. The ruling includes personal maintenance of Rs 50,000 and a child allowance of Rs 80,000. Despite the verdict in her favour, Jahan has stated that she will appeal the case to the Supreme Court as the amount of child support is insufficient.

Jahan had accused Shami of domestic violence and filed a complaint against him and his older brother Hasib Ahmad on March 8, 2018. The complaint included allegations of threats, infidelity and dowry demands.
