Sheriff's Office uses an air drone to locate the lack of and endangered Palatine man in the forest preservative (Cook County, Il) – The Cook County's office has successfully and endangered man after a searched air drone search of a heavily forested section of the Deer Park West Forest Preserve in Palatin.

On Monday evening, members of the K9 unit of Sheriff's Police K9 and the Aerial Support Response Team (ASRT) reacted at the request of the Cook County Forest Preserve police to Camp Alphonse in the Deer Park Forest after a 63-year-old man was reported to be missing this afternoon.

It was known that the missing person who had diabetes and early dementia often changed in the forest protection area near his house.

K9 units and ASRT officers searched from around 10 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. without localizing the person. Today at around 8 a.m., ASRT returned to the area to continue the search. Shortly before 1 p.m., an ASRT officer had just started the drone to search an area north of the intersection of Arbor Lane and Dundee Road when he saw the victim on the drone camera display, which was only a path away and was hidden from his eyes by high grass. P

The ASRT officer drove in the position of the man and kept the drone in a stationary Position above the man to support Palatin Police and Cook County Forest Preserve The police, the other locations searched in the Preserve, and paramedics who reacted to the location.

The man was conscious and talked to first aid and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

ASRT was founded in 2021 and supported the missing person in several air and marine drones who provided information and tactical support for hostage/barricade incidents and in the search for suspects that flee for violent crime flee.
