Redding, California. – Sherri Papini, the wife of Shasta County, who falsified her own kidnapping in 2016, was back in court for custody negotiation with her ex-husband Keith Papini on Friday.

During the hearing on Friday in the Shasta Courthouse, Keith Papini's defense argued that Sherri Papini was unable to have custody or visiting rights for her children. His defense team also claimed that in this case she used a wrong psychological test.

Keith Papini came up and was asked whether he had concrete evidence that prove that Sherri was not suitable for custody or a visit. The hearing is currently during a break, with further procedures expected later a day.

Papini, who disappeared during jogging in Redding and later admitted to the production of the kidnapping, was sentenced to 18 months in the federal prison in 2022. It was released in early 2023. Her ex-husband Keith Papini previously said that he had custody for her two children.
