New Delhi [India]March 23 (ANI): Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi announced a zero hour notice period for mandatory GPS tracking in all vehicles in Rajya Sabha on Tuesday.
“It is worrying that, according to media reports, the Indian government plans to make GPS tracking compulsory for all vehicles on the pretext of clearing the physical toll booth on Indian roads. However, this initiative will put our country in the surveillance as the Die Government will be able to monitor a car on any Indian street in real time, which is a serious violation of individual privacy and freedom, “Chaturvedi said in a letter.
“So I urge you, through this August House, to send these urgent and appropriate instructions to the Government of India to clarify your position in the House on the above issue and to ensure that the freedom and privacy of people under the pretext of such guidelines are not violated, “she added.
During the zero hour, parliamentarians can raise issues of urgent public concern. Members usually express their feelings around noon after Question Time. This time was referred to as “zero hour”. (ANI)
