Sonia Booth slams Matthew Booth for infidelity and drops receipts

Who needs Jub Jub and the Uyajola 9/9 crew when you have money to hire a private investigator? That’s what Sonia Booth did when she detailed her husband, Matthew Booth’s affair with a woman he worked with.

On Monday, she took to Instagram and updated her followers on his cheating by going straight to the beginning of his alleged affair with fitness junkie Bongani Mthombeni-Moller.

Sonia Booth is an entrepreneur whose modeling career began in 1998. In 1999 she represented southern Africa in the Mnet Face of Africa pageant and was later crowned second runner-up in the Miss South Africa 2001 beauty pageant. She and Matthew married in 2006.

In 2011 and 2012 she was selected to judge the Miss South Africa pageants.

An affair for Valentine’s Day

“That was the beginning: February 14, 2022 is ‘every day is Valentine’s Day in the Booth household.’ Tracker later revealed that Bongani Mthombeni Moller bonganimoller was picked up from her home by @matthewboothza that morning,” Sonia wrote on Instagram below a video of Matthew chatting about SuperSport with Mpho Maboe.

“They spent the night in Polokwane and the next day he dropped them off at their house. I bet it was bliss because @matthewboothza came home with an exquisitely wrapped gift box, one of the perfumes was ‘Guilty’, a wicked sense of humor that Bonganimoller has…” she added, along with a picture of the eau de au de Cologne that Matthew’s alleged lover had gifted him with.

According to Sonia, who made the decision to go public with the betrayal after meeting Bongani’s husband, Matthew had used their joint bank account and vehicle, which had a tracking device in it, to entertain Bongani.

“Sunday 10th July @matthewboothza leaves home in the morning, stops to buy flowers and goes to Bonganimoller’s house. The bank statement shows that the fishmonger’s lunch was also enjoyed. In the evening he came home after spending the whole day there.

“This morning Bongani’s husband had this to say to me: ‘I remember being in Maputo for a lecture around this time. Her mother called to say the boys are with her in Welkom. I was confused and wondered why the boys were there, now I know,” she wrote.

About a month after the above date, Matthew and Bongani reportedly traveled to Empangeni, where they stayed for three nights.

“This is supposed to be the @the_booth_trust initiative. If she went with him to scout out future collaborations/donations/initiatives for @royal_haskoningdhv then why wasn’t she introduced to me considering I am a co-founder, trustee and director of The Trust,” asked Sonia.

Said trip was planned around the same time that Sonia and Matthew’s son was due to turn 18.

“It was changed after I gave Bonganimoller an ultimatum that if @matthewboothza misses our son’s birthday party, I will do exactly what I’m doing now… social media. I didn’t keep my ‘promise’ after meeting her husband this morning…” she added.

‘Blessing in disguise’

Sonia said she was initially angry that her car had been used for her trip, but said it was a hidden blessing as the tracker data gave her the evidence she needed.

She then revealed how the tracker data allowed her to find the woman’s address and her husband’s details. Sonia then met with Bongani’s husband, who broke down her “patterns and history.”

“He felt what I shared via email justified our meeting. We had coffee this morning and he gave me his blessing for it because he doesn’t know what else to do, he’s tried different approaches over the past ten years.”

The ultimate betrayal – the disappearing cheesecake

Sonia then shared a story about a cheesecake that Matthew apparently baked for Bongani.

“Two weeks ago I noticed cheesecake ingredients in the fridge and the boys loved it. On November 3rd (the eve of Nate’s birthday) @matthewboothza bakes… that night I was fast asleep. In the morning we were all excited and drooling over the cheesecake thinking it was for Nate’s birthday.

“Imagine our shock and surprise when it disappeared from our fridge, the whole cake, not even a taste more 3 slices of Nyana for me, N&N. We laughed and felt sorry,” she quipped.

As it turned out, he actually gave the cheesecake to Bongani and even tasted Klaus.

“Do you mind if I get my cheesecake carrier back? I have something with Tupperware just in case your wife doesn’t bring it up,” she recalled telling Bongani’s husband.

@bongz1 your husband said you love cheesecake you met the right man in @MatthewBoothZA because he makes the best ????. I hope it was worth it.— Sonia Booth (@SoniaBoothZA) November 7, 2022

“I left the cake carrier on the garage floor where @matthewboothza parks…” she captioned a photo of the cheesecake carrier on the floor in her garage.

She then shared a series of pictures of Bongani and Matthew looking cozy on various occasions, tagging brands Bongani had previously worked with.

“I think you worked with bonganimoller @matthewboothza and the @safootylegends for these workouts. I wonder why other founders of the NPC were not involved. I think you were just used by Bonganimoller to get free personal training sessions,” Sonia commented.

“Boy of Boy (sic), the time she’s spending with her legend begs the question: WHEN DOES SHE ACTUALLY WORK? This question is for you @royal_haskoningdhv,” she added sarcastically.

At the time of writing, she closed her reveal by saying that people were sending her troubling messages and were sending people to her house to check on her.

“Let me save you energy, time, airtime and data. SOZE ndizibulale for Indoda, not even for your legend. Imagine ME, Sonia! I survived the ICU for a reason.”

“Now stop your pretentious and capricious concerns, they make me sick,” Sonia concluded.

Citizen reached out to both Matthew Booth and Bongani Moller for comment. The article will be updated to reflect their answers as they become available.
