Adding his two cents. Craig Conover weighed in Shep Rose and Taylor Ann Green‘s split after previously implying his pal cheated on Taylor prior to the breakup.
“You know what it was based on [is that] There were things early on in their relationship,” Craig, 33, told Us Weekly exclusively while promoting his collaboration with RumHaven by Sewing Down South earlier this month. “I brought it up at last year’s reunion and I know they’ve worked out some things before that. That’s really all it took for me to have the opinion I had viz [that] In any relationship where there is infidelity, there will be serious trust issues [are] often impossible to heal.”
The Southern Charm star previously hinted during the July 21 episode of the series that Taylor’s unease about Shep going out and drinking is rooted in his past infidelities. The 42-year-old Average Expectations writer confessed to cheating on his then-girlfriend during the show’s seventh season reunion in January 2021.

“Taylor thinks it’s just a campfire. What Shep freaks out about is that there are landmines, accelerant and gas everywhere,” Craig explained during the July episode. “And he says, ‘If you keep petting this campfire, it’s going to explode.’ You know s-t, I know s-t, everyone knows s-t except Taylor.”
The Sewing Down South founder told us this month that he and Austen Kroll tried her “hardest to stay out of the drama with Shep and Taylor, 27,” he finally gave his opinion, as seen in Season 8.
“I’m not sure how the rest of their stuff is going to play out, especially given the current events,” Craig said, referring to the couple’s split in July after two years. “I know our reunion is imminent and I have no idea what to expect. But I am sure there will be a lot to tell.”
The Pillow Talk writer teased that while he doesn’t “know” the exact reason for Shep and Taylor’s split, he is hopeful that the cast’s reunion in Season 8 will be “very interesting” and a place for them to ” to clarify”.
When asked if he sees the Hilton Head, South Carolina native getting back together with the clinical assistant, Craig was a little less optimistic.
“Breakups make me sad no matter what [and] that’s weird. But at the end of the day, there was a lot of love,” he admitted. “I don’t know what’s best for them, but yeah, it’s always a shame.”
Craig added that prior to Taylor, he had “never seen anyone” who loved Shep “for who he is,” which made their breakup even harder to witness. “It was nice that he found someone who liked him the way he was, but we’ll see how it goes,” he teased.
As fans wait to see how Southern Charm Season 8 ends, Craig focuses on his latest deal: collaborating with RumHaven for a limited-edition capsule collection that includes a pillow, coaster and candle.
“The RumHaven by Sewing Down South Coconut Collection will be available immediately on the Sewing Down South website, stitchingdownsouth.com [Tuesday], August 23,” the law school graduate told us. “And it will be in stock and we have a big event as well.”
Craig announced that the in-store celebration for the alcohol brand’s team-up will be held on Thursday, August 25 at its flagship store on King Street in Charleston. “I’ll be there having a great time with RumHaven and all of you,” he concluded.
