Spouse finds mom and two youngsters suspected of being untrue in Brunnen, youngsters die in Betul

True (Madhya Pradesh): A woman is said to have thrown two children and their mother into a well in the Betul district late Tuesday evening, the police said on Wednesday. While the mother survived, both children drowned.

The defendant suspected an illicit relationship between her husband and the mother of two.

The incident took place in the village of Kahne, under the Chicholi district police station.

According to information, the victim, identified as Sangita, 25, was walking from a market to their home with her son Anshu, 4, and daughter Ananya, 2.

She was ambushed by another woman identified as Pinky, 25, who lives in the same village.

The victim alleged in her testimony to police that Pinky had started abusing and was accused of having an illegal relationship with her husband. Pinky later pushed Sangita into a well. When Sangita was carrying her daughter on her lap, the mother-daughter duo fell into the well. Pinky later threw Sangita’s son into the well too.

“I managed to hold onto a brick wall. She (Pinkey) also pelted stones so I would get off the brick and fall into the water. When I called for help, some villagers came and saved me, ”Sangita told the police in their statement.

Police superintendent (SP) Betul Simala Prasad said the rescue operation had been going on all night. “The children’s bodies were fished out on Wednesday morning. The defendant has been arrested and is being questioned. Preliminary investigations indicate that the defendant suspected her husband of having an illegal relationship with the victim’s wife, ”said Simala Prasad.
