Substance abuse in little one custody circumstances turns into topic of CLE at legislation agency Leving
The law firm of Jeffery M. Leving Ltd. is hosting the next presentation of the Arthur S. Kallow Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminar series on Wednesday, February 15 at 6:30 p.m. CST at 19 S. LaSalle St. in Chicago.
This month’s presentation is “Investigating Substance Abuse Problems in Child Custody Cases.”
Attorney Jeffery M. Leving, Founder and President of the Firm, will moderate the seminar. He says if an opposing party in a custody battle has a substance abuse problem, it can potentially put a child at risk.
“We are often asked to protect children from adverse parties who may have a drug or alcohol problem,” he says.

“If it’s a drug problem, it can range from illegal behavior in the home to the presence of illegal weapons. If it’s alcohol, the parent may drive drunk with the child. These are dangerous situations and the fathers we represent rely on us to uncover and verify the facts, bring them to the attention of the court and obtain a court order that puts the child out of danger. These fathers want to protect their children from harm.”
A question and answer session will follow the presentations.
The Kallow CLE seminar series, which began in 2014, provides legal training for family law attorneys and other professionals who wish to expand their legal knowledge. CLE points are awarded.
Please email Jennifer Whiteside (firstname.lastname@example.org) to reserve as this program has reached capacity.
