The Baraga County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a lacking individual case

BARAGA, Mich. (WLUC) — The Baraga County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a missing person case in the Keweenaw Bay area, but very little information has been released.

TV6 was able to confirm the following with the investigators:

Investigators from the Baraga County Sheriff’s Office searched between L’Anse and Baraga at the head of the bay on Wednesday after the vehicle of a reported missing person was found near the shore. Divers working with the sheriff’s office began searching the water in the afternoon but ended the search around 4:30 p.m

A TV6 reporter spoke to a member of the Baraga County Sheriff’s Office, who confirmed an investigation was ongoing. Investigators did not provide an identity of the missing person or a description of their vehicle. They confirmed that divers did not find a body in the bay.

The Baraga County Sheriff’s Office said it will have more information available Thursday. This story will be updated at this time.
