WOODLAND PARK, Colo. (KRDO) — A shooting at a local grocery store Friday started with an altercation during a custody exchange, according to Woodland Park police.

28-year-old Luis Morales – the child's biological father – threatened the mother's boyfriend, police said.
According to police, the friend (who was not named in the news release) then pulled out a gun and shot Morales.
While first aid was administered, Morales died in the hospital, according to police.
According to police, the unnamed suspected shooter remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. According to police, he was released pending the completion of the investigation.
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation is leading the case with assistance from the Woodland Park Police Department and the 4th Judicial District Attorney's Office.
