The courtroom dissolves the six-year marriage for infidelity

A Mapo Custom Court held in Ibadan on Friday dissolved a six-year marriage between a clergyman, Abdulrasheed Olalere, and his wife, Mariam, on grounds of infidelity.

Mr Olalere accused her of infidelity in his response to a divorce lawsuit filed by Mariam and tried to escape with her lover.

The President of the Court, Ademola Odunade, ruled that the marriage was not originally built on a solid foundation of love and trust.

As a result, Mr Odunade dissolved the union in the interests of peace.

He gave Mariam custody of the child and asked Mr. Olalere to pay N5,000 for the child’s monthly maintenance.

I caught Mariam in bed with another man when she was four months pregnant.

I was mad at her, but we settled it. The man “claims” the baby too. But after medical reports showing that the date given by the man proved him to be wrong about the date of pregnancy, I took her back.

“After interventions from different people, things worked fine until she started hanging out with her lover again,” he said.

“Sir, I caught you trying to escape with the same man. Mariam is stubborn, ”said Olalere.

Mariam insisted that her husband was irresponsible and loveless.

She had nothing to say about the allegations she tried to escape with her ex-boyfriend.
