CDFW carries out mules helicopter to collect critical data for the administration of the state's stag populations. During these records, the employees collect physiological (body functions) and morphometric (size/shape) measurements, samples for monitoring the disease and body state in a way that can predict the population. Animals are also equipped with GPS collar for geospatial persecution. The collar helps CDFW to understand the movement and survival of the animals. They are also decisive for the implementation of population estimates during the surveys. The highlight of these efforts aims to save the deer population in California
