The guideline by the home (transport) department forces compliance with the standard industry standard-140 (AIS-140) in all vehicles that were classified under the categories of the public service and transport according to the rules of the Central Motor Vehicles in 1989.
The initiative is organized with a national framework, which is introduced by the Union Ministry of Road Traffic and motorways (Morth). The government has authorized the transport and road traffic commissioner to monitor the entire registration and activation process of these devices.
Manufacturers who are interested in the delivery and adaptation of VLTDS must first register their models with the Commissioner.
You must have a valid AIS-140-permission certificate of type AIS-140, which was issued by accredited test diversities and maintain appropriate adaptation centers in the entire state to ensure service and maintenance in good time.
The traffic commissioner will shortly invite interests from justified companies that have to apply within 30 working days. Each application must be accompanied by a non -reimbursable fee of RS 25,000 per device model and must contain complete example sentences for evaluation.
The devices are then subjected to strict tests for AIS-140 conformity and compatibility with the state's backend monitoring platform, which is operated by the Center for the Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC). This assessment is expected to be completed within 30 days. Only the models that exist the test process and safe registration are permitted for use in vehicles within the state.
The order also offers protective measures to protect consumers. Registered manufacturers must set up a 24 -x support system for vehicle owners and set up service centers on zonal levels to ensure that the support is easily available.
According to officials, the initiative will pave the way for real -time tracking of public service vehicles, improve the security mechanisms and improve the efficiency of monitoring. After implementation, the system is expected to offer greater transparency in the area of public transport and strengthen the trust of passengers.
